Cranio-sacral therapy
Cranio-sacral therapy was originally developed by an osteopath William Sutherland. It is a gentle, yet very profound modality of complementary medicine. It involved gentle touch on the body, primarily on the sacrum, spine and the head. Cranio-sacral therapy is founded on the concept that the body-mind complex has the innate ability to heal itself. As practitioners of this therapy, we connect to the underlying health of the system and encourage a free flow of vitality by supporting the system in release restrictions, tensions and traumas. Thus the healing comes from deep within –from the very core of our being. In other words, by connecting with the blueprint of health we remind the system of what is its original state. Cranio-sacral therapy can be used to treat a variety of conditions and people of all ages –offering support to the new born to elderly.
In Cranio-sacral therapy, we always look at a whole person, not isolated symptoms yet it has been found beneficial in treating the following conditions :headaches, migraines, period pains, asthma, sinusitis, bronchitis, frozen shoulder, back and neck pain, sciatica, RSI, digestive problems, low energy, spinal curvatures, whiplash injuries, tension, anxiety, stress, insomnia ,depression, visual disturbances, problems during and after pregnancy, birth trauma, baby care, colic, feeding difficulties, pyloric stenosis, ear infections , glue ear, sinusitis, stress, hyperactivity, autism, epilepsy, dental and TMJ problems, head injuries, post-operative effect, meningitis, chronic fatigue, auto-immune diseases, post viral syndrome.
